HiveBits (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the HivePulse mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. Please read it carefully.

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information (name, email address, password).
  • Beekeeping data you enter: apiary locations, hive details, inspection notes, photos, and task records.
  • Voice recordings used for logging inspections (processed and discarded after transcription).

Information collected automatically:

  • Device identifiers and operating system version (for crash diagnostics and compatibility).
  • App usage events (screens visited, features used) to improve the product.
  • Push notification tokens when you enable notifications.

Third-party sign-in:

  • If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google as permitted by their OAuth scope.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and provide the App's features.
  • To process and store your beekeeping records securely.
  • To send transactional notifications (inspection reminders, task alerts) if enabled.
  • To analyse aggregate usage patterns and improve the App.
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. AI and Photo Analysis

When you use the AI disease-detection feature, photos are transmitted to our server and processed by an AI model. Photos are used solely to generate the analysis result and are not stored beyond the session unless you save the result to your inspection record. We do not use your photos to train AI models without your explicit consent.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only with:

  • Service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, and push-notification services that process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case the successor will be bound by this Policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and beekeeping data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it longer.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

The App is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

The App may contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
